Evans: Return
Nick Evans is preparing for a baptism of fire as he returns to action for Harlequins against London rivals Wasps at the Twickenham Stoop on Sunday.
The big-money summer arrival has not played for Quins since sustaining a knee injury during their 24-21 win over Saracens in the opening game of the season.
But the former All Black fly-half is relishing the first time exposure to a capital derby against a troubled Wasps, who sit second from bottom in the Guinness Premiership table.
"It's going to be my first experience of a derby match between the two big London clubs," he said. "But I can imagine how intense it will be.
"I played in some pretty big games back home between Otago and Canterbury and I'm really looking forward to the atmosphere these kinds of games generate."
Quins have called-up Andy Gomarsall, Seb Stegmann and Tom Guest to plug the gaps created by Twickenham bound England trio Danny Care, Ugo Monye and Nick Easter.
Wasps are also suffering a depleted line-up thanks to the autumn Test schedule, missing nine players due to international duty.
Josh Lewsey moves to the centre, Jeremy Staunton starts at fly-half, Mossy Lawler comes onto the wing and Lachlan Mitchell will pull on the number 12 jersey.
"We know the challenge that we face throughout the international period," said Wasps coach Ian McGeechan.
"But as a club we are delighted for our nine players who will run out for their country this weekend."
