Max Evans is determined to take his chance against Canada, even if his Scotland recall has come at the expense of his brother Thom.

The 25-year-old Max has been a frustrated spectator for the games against New Zealand and South Africa - although the two defeats saw his Thom add to his growing reputation.

However, with his 23-year-old brother ruled out of the game against Canada at Pittodrie, Max has been called up to the bench.

And the Glasgow back, who can play in the centres or on the wing, is ready to enjoy his time in the spotlight while Thom comes to watch.

"It's been two trips for me to watch him," he said.

"It's been great watching him but any rugby player you talk to doesn't really enjoying watching a game you could be part of because you just want to be a part of it so badly.

"So it will be a bit of a role reversal for him coming to watch me this time.

"It's a shame Thom's not involved this weekend but I'm sure there'll come a day when we'll play together."

Evans cemented his place in the squad with a scintillating performance and a breathtaking solo try for Scotland A in the demolition of Georgia.

And Scotland coach Frank Hadden had no doubt about promoting the former professional golfer into the senior side.

Hadden said: "Allowing for the opposition on Friday night, his solo try was right out the top drawer.

"Max is just such an exciting talent that, despite his in experience, he was just impossible to ignore."
