London Irish eased past Dax 38-0 in France to make it three wins from three in Pool One of the European Challenge Cup.

Sailosi Tagicakibau and Alfredo Lalanne both crossed for a brace of tries as the Exiles completed a comprehensive victory on their travels.

Despite difficult conditions at the Stade Maurice Boyau, the Guinness Premiership leaders were in impressive form to move a step closer to a place in the quarter-finals.

It took them just three minutes to break the deadlock, Tagicakibau grabbing his first and Peter Hewat slotting over the first of four conversions.

Well clear

Before half time the Samoan left wing had scored again, making it 12-0 in favour of the Exiles at half time.

The second 40 minutes saw Toby Booth's side move well clear, starting with fly-half Shayne Geraghty crossing for their third try.

When Irish lock Bob Casey stormed over in the 68th minute the bonus point was in the bag and Dax's slim hopes of a comeback were over.

There was still enough time for Lalanne to help himself to a late double to increase the misery for the hosts, who are yet to register a single point in the competition this year.

The substitute touched down for the fifth try with nine minutes to play and then completed the rout with his second in injury-time.
