Scotland winger Thom Evans believes the team have made significant progress in attack under Andy Robinson.
Although Scotland scored two tries against Fiji in their opening autumn international, they failed to touch down against Australia and Argentina.
Despite few opportunities created, Evans is confident the work being done by backs coach Gregor Townsend will pay dividends in the RBS Six Nations.
"Gregor's worked really hard with the backs," he said.
"We've been practising really well and putting some really good moves together. But, unfortunately, we couldn't really show that."
Platform
Evans, recalled after missing the opening two games of the autumn internationals, insists Saturday's first-half performance is a platform to build upon.
He said: "It's something to build on and if we can keep playing rugby like we did in the first half then we'll be up there with any team.
"It's just putting that together for two halves."
The 24-year-old flyer believes further work needs to be undertaken on accuracy of ball and competitiveness of breakdown.
"We worked really hard all week at the breakdown and I felt, especially in the first half, that we had the better of them," he added.
"But we just got a bit isolated in the second half. It's something we're going to have to look at and put right next time."
