Racing Métro's impressive run in the Top 14 continued when the Parisians recorded their seventh victory in a row against Biarritz at Parc des Sports Aguilera on Wednesday.

The delayed Round 12 match was played on the Basque coast after the original match was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch on November 5.

Métro's 23-20 victory takes them to fifth in the standings, while Biarritz - playing their first home game in the league for almost two months - have now lost four of their last five matches, although they did pick up a losing bonus point and remain in eighth position.

A Sireli Bobo double helped the visitors along to a well-deserved win in the French championship. Jonathan Wisniewski converted both efforts by the Fijian flyer, as well as kicking two penalties and a drop-goal.

Winger Takudzwa Ngwenya and Dmitri Yachvili scored tries for the home side, the scrum-half also kicking two penalties and a brace of conversions.

"We've notched up seven consecutive victories but we all have experience that shows that it could come to a halt tomorrow," said Racing captain Lionel Nallet.

"There are too many games remaining for us to talk about qualification for the last-four play-offs."

Biarritz captain Jerome Thion was left rueing his side's inability to take their chances.

"In the first half we had three chances to score," he said. "We really missed out on our opportunities and in the end chased the score after making two stupid mistakes.

"We showed a lack of realism compared to Racing's defence. And now we have to travel away and seek points, with a trip to Albi on Sunday.

"That will be the third game in 10 days and the bodies will be a little tired."
