Blindside flanker David Dennis has re-signed with Super 14 side NSW Waratahs for the next two seasons.

The 23-year-old made his debut for the Waratahs in 2007 but back-to-back knee reconstructions ruined his 2008 season.

This year the forward played club rugby with Sydney University and was a surprise selection for Australia's autumn tour to Japan and Europe.

Although Dennis didn't make a Test appearance, he did play in two midweek tour wins over club sides Gloucester and Cardiff.

Dennis said: "Once I made that squad I turned my focus towards preparing well, training hard and taking the opportunity which I had been given.

"It's always been my preference to stay at the Waratahs, but the decision-making process took a bit of a back seat after getting selected for the Wallaby tour."

Meanwhile, the Waratahs have announced the signings of former Leinster lock Cam Jowitt and Emerging South African lock Hendrik Roodt.
