Bath have announced that veteran forwards Danny Grewcock and Duncan Bell have both prolonged their stays with the Guinness Premiership club.

Former England and British and Irish Lions lock Grewcock has signed a one-year contract extension which will keep him at the club until the summer of 2011 - a decade after the 37-year-old first joined.

Grewcock, who is currently serving a seven-week ban for stamping on Ulster flanker Stephen Ferris during a Heineken Cup game, will also continue to combine his playing duties with a development role.

Meanwhile, prop Bell has extended his stay at the club by another two seasons.

The 35-year-old won an England recall during the autumn internationals after Martin Johnson's squad fell prey to a number of front-row injuries.

Delighted

Head coach Steve Meehan said he was delighted that both men have chosen to sign new deals.

The Australian said of Grewcock: "Danny is one of our most respected players, a model professional who does a terrific amount of work in the community and is a great example for our younger players.

"Grewy's decision to remain with the squad reflects that he is still enjoying the game and sees a bright future for the team.

"We will be drawing on his experience over the years to come in what we see as a very important appointment for his and the club's future."

Meehan also praised former Pontypridd tighthead Bell, adding: "Duncan had a very good 2009, playing many matches for Bath and winning an England recall. He is a strong and destructive scrummager and has a very good feel for the ball.

"We are all pleased that a player with his experience and skills will be remaining with the club as we all work hard to get back to being one of the most successful and exciting teams in the league."
