Samoa centre Eliota Fuimaono-Sapolu has signed a new two-year contract extension with Gloucester.

Fuimaono-Sapolu arrived at Kingsholm in the summer from west country rivals Bath on a 12-month deal - but he has now agreed to extend his stay until the end of the 2011-12 season.

The 29-year-old has made 19 appearances for the Cherry and Whites this season - scoring two tries in the victory over Harlequins, as well one against his former club.

And Fuimaono-Sapolu, who is known as Eli, is looking forward to long-term success at Gloucester.

"I'm really enjoying my rugby with Gloucester," he told the club's website.

"We play an open style of rugby that suits my game and our efforts are now being rewarded in terms of results on the field."

"So hopefully we can challenge strongly on all three fronts in the competitions we are still in contention for this season."

"The squad is shaping up nicely for next season and I had no hesitation in committing to Gloucester on a long term basis."
