Warren Gatland will make changes as he looks to make sure Wales end their 2010 RBS Six Nations campaign on a real high against Italy.

A 27-12 loss to Ireland at Croke Park means Wales can finish no higher than fourth this year, while the wooden spoon is still an outside possibility.

Coach Gatland admits he has endured "a couple of bad days" and is now pondering shaking things up for the game against the Azzurri.

The squad reported back for duty on Monday lunchtime ahead of the team for the game at the Millennium Stadium being named on Tuesday afternoon.

Scrum-half Mike Phillips and prop Gethin Jenkins could both return to international action this weekend, while Ryan Jones is set to be recalled.

Promising youngsters such as Ospreys fly-half Dan Biggar and Cardiff Blues flanker Sam Warburton could also be given a chance.

If winless Scotland upset Ireland on their travels this weekend, the loser of the Wales v Italy game will end up finishing bottom of the Six Nations pile.
