Horan: Ruled out
Ireland prop Marcus Horan has been ruled out of action until the new year after undergoing a "routine medical procedure".
Ireland have not revealed details of the procedure, although it is believed that it is linked to Horan's first-half substitution during Munster's Heineken Cup victory over Treviso.
Horan, who will now miss Ireland's autumn internationals, was replaced after 17 minutes of the match, having complained of feeling dizzy.
A statement on IRFU website read: "The update regarding Marcus Horan is that it has been confirmed that he will not be available for the Guinness Series games in November.
"Following further tests this week, Horan underwent a routine medical procedure and will undergo a period of rest over the next number of weeks. It is expected that he will be available to Munster and Ireland after the new year."
Horan had been initially included in Ireland's 39-man squad for the autumn Tests against Australia, Fiji and South Africa - however the injury has mean he is one of eight players omitted by coach Declan Kidney.
Ireland do have a fitness concern over Jerry Flannery going into their game with Australia on November 15, with the hooker still recovering from a calf problem.
As a result both Sean Cronin and John Fogarty have been retained in the senior squad.
