Scotland coach Andy Robinson has axed Phil Godman for the RBS Six Nations clash against Wales.
Edinburgh fly-half Godman struggled in the 18-9 defeat to France at Murrayfield - and was replaced by Hugo Southwell with 30 minutes left.
And he has now paid the price with Cardiff-bound Dan Parks handed the No.10 jersey against the Welsh.
Robinson said: "We needed to improve our owning of territory, winning the territorial battle and marrying the two together of being able to play with the ball in hand but also looking to be able to dominate territory.
"We didn't do that well enough last week and while we showed some really good attacking intent, we turned too many balls over.
"Dan's coming in not just to kick the ball - we still want to move it, we still want to play with the ball in hand."
The return of Parks is one of three changes made by Robinson, with Euan Murray recalled to bolster the pack and Rory Lamont added to the back division.
Murray missed the defeat to France as his religious beliefs means he won't play on Sundays - and Robinson is delighted to have him back.
"He's a fantastic tighthead prop, he's a real rock in the way that he performs and we need that level of physicality in the game," he said.
Lamont comes in on the wing, with brother Sean - one of the few Scottish players to shine against Les Bleus - moving to the centres in place of Max Evans.
Evans and Godman both drop to the bench, while Moray Low is omitted from the squad completely.
Joint-captain Mike Blair is also included among the replacements, though, after recovering from injury.
Meanwhile the match will see Chris Paterson become the first Scot to make 100 international appearances - with the full-back set to receive he a specially-commissioned cap to mark the milestone.

Barry Hamilton says...
Its about time that Dan parks was brought back into the scotland fold cause as good a player that Phil godman is he still lacks the ability to be a international stand off. Parks has won us games with his kicking and i am one that is glad he is back in the team. also good to see both lamonts back playing well just what the team needs good ball carriers who don't loose it in contact. Congratulations to Chris Paterson on getting his 100th cap.
