England face an anxious wait over the fitness of full-back Delon Armitage and lock Simon Shaw, who both suffered knocks in the Ireland defeat.

Shoulder injury victim Shaw visited a specialist on Monday and will have scans on his left a/c joint reviewed on Tuesday by the England and Wasps medical teams.

Armitage suffered rib cartilage damage early in the second half at Twickenham and does not have a comeback target yet.

With Shaw and Armitage sidelined, Leicester lock Louis Deacon and Northampton full-back Ben Foden will join England's training camp at Pennyhill Park on Tuesday afternoon.

Both players came off the bench in the 20-16 defeat to Ireland and would be next in line for a start in their respective positions.

England will retain the rest of Saturday's starting XV plus Deacon, Foden and Bath tighthead prop David Wilson in camp this week, while the bench and the other 10 members of the elite squad will be released for Guinness Premiership action.

England's next match is against Scotland at Murrayfield on Saturday week.
