Scotland coach Andy Robinson has handed Nick De Luca a recall for Saturday's RBS Six Nations clash against England at Murrayfield.
The 26-year-old replaces Simon Danielli in the line-up from the side that lost to Italy in Rome.
As a result Max Evans will move across from centre to fill Danielli's spot on the wing, with De Luca handed the No.13 jersey for the Calcutta Cup clash.
De Luca has not started for Scotland since November 2008, but he did come off the bench in Rome to win his 15th cap.
Captain Chris Cusiter and flanker John Barclay had both been doubts for the match, but they have been declared fit.
Cusiter has recovered from a virus to lead the side, while Barclay has shaken off a knee injury.
Robinson, though, has been forced to make a trio of changes on the bench with Mike Blair, Alasdair Strokosch and Alasdair Dickinson all ruled out.
Blair and Dickinson have been sidelined with concussion, while Strokosch has aggravated an ankle injury.
That means Rory Lawson, Geoff Cross and Alan MacDonald have been called up to provide cover.
Robinson said: "The team has played some good rugby and we have been creating chances. We just need to take that next step and finish off a game.
"Max has been our most potent attacker and we also want to see Nick and the qualities that he can bring to this game."
