Queensland Reds have launched a cross-code raid to sign Rod Davies from Brisbane Broncos.
The 19-year-old former Australian Schools full-back has spent two years at the Broncos having started off in union and been part of the national talent squad.
And Davies, who has agreed a two-year deal, admitted to Fox Sports: "They (the NTS) really looked after me and I always knew I'd find myself back in union."
Queensland have also extended the contracts of Charlie Fetoai and Brando Va'aulu - and with Wallabies back Peter Hynes in their squad, there is strong competition for the No.15 shirt.
"It's exciting because there's good competition for that spot with Brando, Hynesy and Rod Davies," said Reds performance manager Ben Whitaker.
"Time will tell with Brando. He's a talented kid and we'll trial him there with the others and he knows he has to improve his kicking, which he's working hard to do."
