Sehwag: Ankle injury
India opener Virender Sehwag has been ruled out of the remaining four one-day internationals against Sri Lanka.
Sehwag suffered an ankle injury during practice on Sunday and took no part in the ODI at the Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium on Monday, when India were beaten by eight wickets.
Former Indian Under-19 captain Virat Kohli replaced Sehwag at the top of the order for the match and made just 12 before he was trapped leg before wicket by Nuwan Kulasekara.
India team manager Sanjay Desai did not confirm whether a replacement for Sehwag would be called into the squad.
India are already without star batsman Sachin Tendulkar, who withdrew from the series after sustaining an elbow injury during the final Test in Colombo earlier this month.
India skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni said the team would miss Sehwag.
"Sehwag was in great form," Dhoni said during the post-match press conference.
"The injury was quite bad and he is still in the hotel. But that's the way it goes in cricket.
"You can't really think about the guys you are missing. You have to concentrate on the players you have with you and fill that spot.
"That's the only way the team can win."
