Vaughan: Wants to make runs for Yorkshire
Former England captain Michael Vaughan has revealed his hunger to find his form and return to the national side in time for next year's Ashes.
Vaughan stood down from the captaincy following the third Test against South Africa, with the tourists wrapping up a series win, admitting his form no longer justified his place in the side.
The Yorkshire batsman was not selected for the final Test but is hoping a strong end to the season with his county could see him back in the squad for one of the winter tours.
"I want to play in the Ashes and I think realistically I've to try and get back in the next six or seven months," he told Sky Sports 1. "If not, the start of next summer.
"So games for Yorkshire are crucial and hopefully (I will) go to India, (and) force my way in the team.
"If not, the Caribbean - (they are) two teams I've had a lot of success against.
"And then early next summer Sri Lanka, if they come, and then the big Ashes series.
"I'm fortunate. In the next year I'm playing the four teams I've got the best record against.
"So confidence will be high, the buzz of wanting to get out there is there. I want to bat."
