Mohammad Asif's doping case will be heard on November 29, his lawyer said.
The Pakistan fast bowler, 25, tested positive for nandrolone while playing for the Delhi Daredevils during the inaugural Indian Premier League competition in May.
A test on his second sample at a World Anti-doping Agency-accredited laboratory in Switzerland also produced an adverse finding.
He appeared before the IPL anti-doping tribunal - who decide his punishment - on October 11, but the meeting was adjourned without a decision being taken.
Asif's lawyer, Shahid Karim - who questioned the jurisdiction of the IPL panel in the preliminary hearing - is still hoping for a quick end to the case.
"We have worked on legal and medical aspects of the case and hope that the tribunal will make a decision at the hearing on November 29," he said.
"Evidence will be recorded during the hearing, and we will present testimony.
"It is our chance to fight the case - and we will give it our all, since this is a matter of my client's international career."
The IPL anti-doping tribunal consists of former India captain Sunil Gavaskar, lawyer Shirish Gupte and doctor Ravi Bapat.
Asif faces a ban of at least two years if found guilty. That would cover international cricket as the Pakistan Cricket Board are prepared to endorse the outcome.
