Seam bowlers Zaheer Khan and Shantha Sreesanth have been recalled by India for the Test series at home to Sri Lanka.

Zaheer has recovered from the shoulder injury that has kept him out of international cricket since June, while Sreesanth returns to the fold following disciplinary issues.

Ashish Nehra and Munaf Patel have both been overlooked despite recent good form in the one-day arena.

The selectors have named three spinners - Harbhajan Singh, Amit Mishra and Pragyan Ojha - in their 15-man squad, while Murali Vijay and Subramaniam Badrinath are among eight batsmen included.

The three-match series starts in Ahmedabad on November 16, followed by games at Kanpur (Nov 24-28) and Mumbai (Dec 2-6).

The selectors will review the squad ahead of the final Test in Mumbai.

Sri Lanka have never won a Test on Indian soil in 14 attempts.
