Raina: Test call up
India have increased their batting options for the second Test against South Africa by including Dinesh Karthik and Suresh Raina in a 15-man squad.
Seam bowler Shanthakumaran Sreesanth is also recalled after missing India's innings defeat in the series opener in Nagpur due to a thigh strain.
Wriddhiman Saha, the reserve wicketkeeper, made his debut as a specialist batsman in the first Test after VVS Laxman and Rohit Sharma were both late withdrawals.
Laxman is retained in the hope he can overcome a finger problem but Saha and Sharma, along with back-up seamers Sudeep Tyagi and Abhimanyu Mithun, have been left out of the squad for a match India must win to claim a share of the two-match series and retain top spot in the International Cricket Council Test rankings.
Karthik made the most recent of his 23 Test appearances against Bangladesh in January, while Raina is uncapped in the five-day format but has plenty of limited-overs experience.
The second Test starts at Eden Gardens, Kolkata on February 14.

India has been depending a lot on few selected player when its test match and that is not good.V.V.S Laxman and Dravid are not in best of their form though have good experience. So should start trying with Rohit Sharma,Virat Kohli,Yuvraj Singh and Suresh Raina.SA has best seam bowling attack so cannot always rely on Sachin Tendulkar, though is always the last man standing.

Why should Indian selectors experiment with new players and face defeat by a very big margin. Please try new players one by one. the older players if they are physically fit keep them as long as they can play. it is completely demoralising to see India lose by an innings. Disgraceful.

India can ring the changes until they're blue in the face but they just dont have the bowling attack to compete with the South Africans. India we all know can bat until the cows come home but South Africa are just looking a phenomenal outfit!!!
