Pakistan captain Shoaib Malik believes his country is heading for cricketing isolation if security concerns continue to deter teams from touring.

Australia pulled out of a scheduled visit to the country in March and the International Cricket Council also postponed the eight-team Champions Trophy, which had been due to take place in Pakistan in September.

Pakistan will not play any Tests during 2008, a situation that disappoints Malik.

"It is very frustrating for the players the way two important events have been postponed this year," he said.

"It is so depressing that despite being a major cricket playing nation we do not play a Test match this year.

"The ICC needs to step in and play a more decisive role.

"If teams keep on refusing to tour Pakistan despite assurances even from our government we will become an isolated cricket nation."
