Quotes of the week
Defender Natalie Seaton has been signed by Surrey Storm following the departure of Sonia Mkoloma and Geva Mentor.
Seaton has competed for the England national squad and has also featured in three Co-operative Superleague finals with former sides Team Bath and Mavericks.
The 27-year-old moves to Storm after Mkoloma and Mentor, both England internationals, left to play in the ANZ Championships in Australia.
Seaton will join up with former Team Bath colleagues Tamsin Greenway and Rachel Dunn at Surrey, and is looking forward to the reunion.
"I am really looking forward to joining the top team of the moment Surrey Storm and playing with my old team mates," said Seaton.
"I am excited about the challenge and looking forward to being part of the squad and to make that final."
Head coach Mary Beardwood added: "Having Natalie on board will strengthen the squad further.
"We already have such great depth in the squad and Natalie will be a real asset to Surrey Storm."
Seaton also played alongside Chrissy Fitzgerald at former side Mavericks, and competes with Storm defender Jaime Galley at club side academy.
Franchise director Jason Harborow is delighted to secure the signing, and insists his side are still thriving despite the departure of two of their top players.
"We are committed to attracting the best players to the Storm, and the signing of Natalie again shows this," said Harborow.
"Natalie has been approached by a number of high-profile teams and it is great news that she has chosen Surrey Storm.
"Those who doubted our ability to continue in our current form following the departure of Geva and Sonia may have to have a rethink, we have a three-year plan to win the Superleague and we are on track!"
