Leeds Carnegie left it late before strengthening their grip on third spot in the Co-operative Netball Superleague with a 41-40 victory over Glasgow Wildcats.

The game could have gone either way, but Leeds snatched the victory over the resurgent Scots in the dying seconds.

And Leeds coach Marion Lofthouse, who had in-form keeper Lauren Potter to thank for the win, was left relieved to leave Glasgow with the points.

"It was an extremely hard-fought victory for Leeds Carnegie" she said.

"There was great team composure to bring the ball into the shooting circle to score.

"Glasgow Wildcats are a much improved side since our last encounter, credit to them for making it such an exciting game of netball for neutrals."

Despite the defeat, Wildcats head coach Denise Holland proud of her girls.

"It was a superb and fearless performance from the Wildcats, who now have clear evidence that they can compete strongly and win matches in Superleague," she said.
