Northern Thunder have booked their place in the Co-operative Netball Superleague play-offs after they toppled Leeds 61-39.
The win means that fifth-placed Leeds can no longer overtake the four sides above them, with Thunder joining Mavericks, Team Bath and Surrey Storm in the end-of-season showdown.
And Thunder will fancy their chances after their demolition of Carnegie, with Karen Greig and new girl Anastascia Wilson impressing.
The 6ft 2in Wilson, a member of the military from Trinidad and Tobago, has joined Thunder on a sabbatical ahead of the Commonwealth Games.
And she certain caught the eye with an 85 per cent success rate on her debut.
Wilson said: "I was excited about going on to play whilst on the bench. I closely watched the players and their style in case I was called up to play.
"Once on court I was nervous but I settled and got comfortable and have enjoyed my first experience of the Co-operative Netball Superleague."
Captain Greig was impressed with the way her side got better as the game went on.
She said: "We knew Leeds would come out strong from the start but we stepped up quarter by quarter.
"There were some great turnovers from defence which went through to goal and it's an excellent result."
