Gosden: saddles Dar Re Mi

Several fillies with big Oaks chances are set to face off against each other in the Tattersalls Musidora Stakes at York on Wednesday.

Current ante-post favourites Moonstone and Dar Re Mi, trained by Aidan O'Brien and John Gosden respectively, both head to the Knavesmire.

The Ballydoyle filly Moonstone has only had one race in her career to date when she finished second to Dermot Weld's Winchester at Leopardstown.

The daughter of Dalakhani has obviously been giving off the right signals as she is a best-priced 7-1 for Classic glory at Epsom.

Gosden's Dar Re Mi finished second in a back-end maiden last year but bolted up by seven lengths at Sandown on her seasonal reappearance.

Mix

Thrown into the mix is Jim Bolger's Lush Lashes, an eyecatching two-length sixth in the 1000 Guineas behind Natagora, and the unbeaten Cape Amber, trained by Peter Chapple-Hyam.

Sir Michael Stoute usually unearths a Classic contender from somewhere but it takes a leap of faith to see Sovereign's Honour troubling the judge.

The Saeed Suhail-owned filly was over seven lengths behind Cape Amber on her debut last year and just over eight lengths behind Dar Re Mi at Sandown.

"Sir Michael Stoute feels she has improved enough from her Sandown run to warrant taking her chance in the Musidora," racing manager Bruce Raymond told www.rabbahbloodstock.

"It's obviously a big step up in class but hopefully she can get some black type. "

Big guns

Clive Brittain has never been scared of taking on the big guns and runs the Mohamed Obaida-owned Sayyedati Symphony.

"She is also a maiden but on her last start was only beaten two and a half lengths into fourth in a Listed race at Newmarket," added Raymond.
