Alan Swinbank is hoping Turbo Linn can return to winning ways in the bet365 Lancashire Oaks at Haydock on Saturday.

The five-year-old won her first eight races but has found life tougher in her last three runs, finishing seventh in the Coronation Cup at Epsom last time out.

She faces no easy task against 11 rivals at Haydock but her trainer is happy with her progress this season and believes she can win the second Group Two race of her career.

"We were very pleased with her at Epsom," he said. "Soldier Of Fortune and Youmzain must be two of the best older horses in training and she wasn't that far behind.

"We just hope that she is as good as she was last year. She has been working well and she would have every chance.

"It is a tough race, we wouldn't know much about those Irish horses and David Wachman's (Dress Rehearsal) could be anything.

"We just hope we can win a couple more races with her and then I'd imagine we will probably start breeding from her next year. She owes us nothing.

"We won this race last year and Anna Pavlova, who was behind us at Epsom, has to give us 3lb.

"It will be an interesting race, she's well but you can never be sure in a horse race.

"We are hoping she can run a good race but we are more hopeful than confident."

Luca Cumani's Samira Gold makes her belated seasonal reappearance after looking like a filly on the up last term.

"She had a slight problem with her foot, she was due to run at York's May meeting," said Cumani. "That has taken a little time to resolve but she is fine now. However, the race is tougher than I wanted for her first start.

"I think she will need the run but we just have to get her out, she has nowhere else to go. She has no other races she can run in and we'll just have to use this race as a stepping stone."
