Jeremy Noseda admitted that Fleeting Spirit will require luck in running if she is going to land the Breeders' Cup Turf Sprint on Saturday.
The three-year-old filly represents one of Europe's best chances of victory at Santa Anita but her Newmarket handler has issued a word of warning to punters after she breezed on Thursday.
"She's in good order," he said. "Johnny rode her this morning and she relaxed into her surroundings, although I'm convinced that she'll never have gone as fast in her life as will be the case on Saturday.
"There are half a dozen horses that like to lead and there's a distinct chance they will go the first quarter in 20 and change.
"There will be a lot of traffic and I have a feeling she will be a fair way back at the halfway point.
"I'll say a little prayer and just hope we get some luck in running."
