The New Year's Eve meetings at Uttoxeter and Warwick have been called off because of frozen tracks.
Wednesday's card at Uttoxeter had been subject to a 7.30am inspection but officials abandoned ahead of time after overnight temperatures sent the mercury tumbling.
"We have abandoned. The temperature was minus five at 11pm and it stayed that way for three or four hours," reported clerk of the course Keith Ottesen.
"The temperature has risen a little now but that gives us no prospect of getting the frost out of the ground and having a safe racing surface."
It was a similar situation further south at Warwick where a hard frost left clerk of the course Andrew Morris with no alternative.
"We went down to minus five and a half degrees last night and it is still only minus three now," he said.
"There is frost in the ground and the daytime temperature is forecast to be zero to plus one so there is no chance of it coming out of the ground."
The only remaining action is on the all-weather at Lingfield.
