Ashley Brook
Trainer Kevin Bishop is considering options for stable star Ashley Brook after the veteran chaser was struck into at Kempton on Boxing Day.
The 11-year-old came home last of seven behind Fiepes Shuffle in the Desert Orchid Chase but was subsequently found to have suffered a gashed leg.
But after a fortnight on the easy list the former top two-miler should be ready to take in one of the Cheltenham trials before being prepared for another tilt at the festival.
"He had a bit of a wound on a hind leg last time, something struck into him. It wasn't deep, it was fairly superficial but it has taken a bit of time to heal over," said the Bridgwater-based handler.
"I think he jumped across Twist Magic, who must have struck into the outside of his back leg.
"He seems in pretty good form, but we haven't made up our minds yet where we are going to run.
"He's gone for the Game Spirit at Newbury before - it's just a matter if I can find anything else more suitable.
"And if he's in good form we'll try to go for the Queen Mother at Cheltenham."
