The Listener is poised for a trip to horse trainer Yogi Breisner in a bid to iron out flaws in his jumping technique.

Nick Mitchell's front-running grey has made costly mistakes in all three of his outings so far this season, the last of which saw him crash out at the second fence in the Lexus Chase.

Briesner's expertise has worked with The Listener in the past, during his time with Robert Alner, and his new trainer is hoping a second visit will give the horse a boost ahead of the Irish Hennessy on February 8.

"He's in good order and he's going to Yogi's tomorrow," said Mitchell.

"We're going to go up there and give him a session. If he has a good one he'll come straight back, otherwise he'll stay for a couple of days.

"It will be up to Yogi, he'll tell me what he wants to do with him. Then it will be straight to the Hennessy."

It will be the horse's third attempt at the Leopardstown feature after winning last year, 12 months after getting touched off close home by Beef Or Salmon.

And he will be ridden for the first time by Andrew McNamara, who replaces regular partner Daryl Jacob.
