Tuesday's meetings at Leicester and Fairyhouse have been abandoned while Sedgefield's card is subject to a morning inspection.

Leicester brought forward an inspection to Monday afternoon with torrential rain leaving parts of the course under water.

Clerk of the course Jimmy Stevenson said: "We gave it a good shot but things have not improved an awful lot since this morning so we have had to abandon unfortunately.

"The forecast is not too bad but there is no chance conditions will improve enough in time for racing."

Sedgefield have called an 8.30am inspection due to the threat of frost.

"We are perfectly raceable at the moment but we have called an inspection, just to be on the safe side," said clerk of the course Charlie Moore.

"We could handle more rain, but the forecast is for temperatures to reach around minus-one degrees overnight."

Fairyhouse were due to stage racing on Sunday, but were forced to put the card back to Tuesday owing to the wet weather, however heavy snow has now hit the course ruling out any prospect of action.

The course will try again on Friday with general manager Carolione Gray saying: "As a gesture to our loyal customers we are delighted to offer free admission to the rescheduled fixture on Friday and are hoping that they will turn out in numbers."
