Hexham: Inspection
Hexham will undergo a precautionary inspection at 7.30am before officials give the go-ahead for Sunday's meeting.
Although temperatures are due to remain relatively steady overnight, further rain could put the seven race card in jeopardy.
Clerk of the course Jonnie Fenwicke-Clennell said he remained hopeful that the meeting would go ahead.
"The forecast is better than it was this time yesterday," he said.
"The 7.30am inspection is purely precautionary and it is only supposed to get down to around zero tonight.
"The ground is heavy, soft in places at present so we wouldn't want a lot of rain.
"I'm fairly hopeful at this stage."
