Barbers Shop; Heading for Cheltenham
Barbers Shop could be on course to give The Queen a glorious triumph in the totesport Cheltenham Gold Cup after a pleasing workout at Newbury.
The seven-year-old was among a team of Nicky Henderson's Festival hopefuls put through their paces at the Berkshire track on Sunday morning.
"Everything went according to plan," said the trainer. "Barbers Shop went extremely well. He's going to run in the Gold Cup all being well."
Barbers Shop was accompanied by Ballymore Properties Novices' Hurdle possible Mad Max and Punchestowns, a leading fancy for the Ladbrokes World Hurdle.
"He worked with Mad Max and we made our minds up on Sunday morning. Both worked particularly well as did Punchestowns."
Others given a spin ahead of Cheltenham were The Market Man, Galient, Golden Flight and Shouldhavehadthat.
"I was very pleased with all of them," Henderson added.
