The Luca Cumani-trained Ialysos got back on the winning trail when landing the Coral Charge at Sandown.
The ex-Greece-based sprinter came unstuck in the Golden Jubilee Stakes last time out but benefited from a drop in class.
The five-year-old picked up well when in the clear under Chrhistophe Lemaire and held 13-8 favourite Triple Aspect by half a length.
"He had an excuse last time - the ground was over-watered at Ascot and he has done all his running in Greece on fast sand," said Cumani.
"He'll go for the Nunthorpe. I'd think he'd have too much weight for the Stewards' Cup."
Lemaire and Cumani did not have to wait long for their second winner as Acrostic claimed a head success in the Coral Challenge Heritage Handicap.
The 7-1 chance had finished fourth on both of his previous outings this summer and surpassed those efforts to deny Crackdown and 9-2 favourite Mirrored, completing a 43-1 double for the trainer-jockey combination.
"We ran him at York over nine furlongs to see if he was a Magnet Cup horse, but he did not stay so we brought him back and this was a good alternative," Cumani said.
"It will be more of the big mile handicaps for him now."
