Midday: Owners praying for good weather
Midday's owners are hoping for the weather to hold off as she bids for Group One glory in the Blue Square Nassau Stakes.
The filly ran a spectacular race at Epsom, only to go down by a head to Sariska, before taking third in the Irish equivalent, in a ground that was far too testing for her.
And now the owner's racing manager Teddy Grimthorpe has revealed he would consider withdrawing the Midday' if the conditions get any worse.
Grimthorpe said: "Everything has been fine with her since the Curragh and all her work has been good since. She's well within herself and has held on to her condition nicely, so Henry is very pleased with her.
"The ground would probably be fine for her at this stage, but if it rained again we may not run her.
"Obviously we know she stays a mile and a half well having finished second in an Oaks and third in an Irish Oaks, but I don't see any reason why a mile and a quarter wouldn't suit her.
"It's a very competitive race and while she probably deserves to win one of these, deserving is one thing and getting is another."
