Dansant: Set for Breeders Cup
Trainer Gerard Butler insists Dansant will race at the Breeders' Cup Marathon at Santa Anita despite a disappointing effort at Newbury.
The five-year-old trailed home in fifth spot in the Geoffrey Freer Stakes - with Kite Wood taking the victory.
However Butler claims there were reasons behind that poor performance, with a trip to America in November still on the cards.
"Making headway three furlongs out, Dansant looked to challenge but could not reach the leaders and finished fifth," he told his official website.
"Eddie Ahern blamed the fast ground for his performance at Newbury last time.
"We were disappointed, but we have the Breeders' Cup Marathon to look forward to in the autumn."
