Despite trading at around 130-1 on the exchanges, Weapons Amnesty will not be heading to the totesport Cheltenham Gold Cup.

Charles Byrnes' RSA Chase winner suffered a ligament injury when winning at the Festival last year and the Gigginstown Stud-owned gelding has been recuperating.

"He's at home at the moment, at the owner's place," Byrnes told skysports.com.

"He's ready to go back into training but we're not going to put him back this year."

Punters have had to get used to Lazarus-like comebacks, with Binocular in the Champion Hurdle and New Approach in the Derby two high profile examples, however Byrnes is adamant that the horse will miss the Cheltenham Gold Cup, saying: "He's not going to be trained this season."
