Askar Tau: 'In good heart'

Marcus Tregoning believes that stable star Askar Tau has a "great chance" in next Thursday's Gold Cup at Royal Ascot.

The 2009 Lonsdale and Doncaster Cup winner has been in winning form already this season, landing the Group Three Sagaro Stakes over two miles at Ascot in April, although he was only sixth to Duncan in the Yorkshire Cup on his latest start.

"He's getting on with it and if he can go into the race in as good a condition as we had him the first two times he ran this year then he'd have a great chance," said Tregoning.

"The difficulty always is keeping them sound and moving right over those extreme distances, but he seems in good heart and I'm fairly hopeful."
