Nocturnal Affair will represent David Marnane in the Ladbrokes Portland Handicap at Doncaster.

The ex-South African performer had his first start for the Tipperary trainer, and his first outing since the Dubai Carnival, when second in a handicap at Cork on Monday.

"We'll have to see how he comes out of the race but the race is certainly under consideration and I'd love to win it again," said Marnane, who struck with Santo Padre in 2009.

"I believe it's only a gap of 19 days between the two races, and he'll need all of that, but he's up to stepping up in class now and the Portland looks a good opportunity.

"Considering he had been off since February, we were very pleased with his run at the other day."
