David O'Meara is baffled by Blue Bajan's disappointing run in the Doncaster Cup on Town Moor on Friday.
The nine-year-old stayer could only finish sixth of seven behind Saddler's Rock in the Group Two heat over two and a quarter miles and was beaten a total of 24 lengths by the winner.
"He's OK. Nothing has come out of it, nothing to report really," said the North Yorkshire trainer.
Blue Bajan had been in fine form most of the season, winning the Group Two Henry II Stakes at Sandown, finishing second to Saturday's Irish St Leger dead-heat winner Duncan in the Yorkshire Cup and third to Opinion Poll in the Goodwood Cup.
