Connections have no firm plans for beaten Investec Derby favourite Carlton House.
The Queen's colt, trained by Sir Michael Stoute, lost a shoe when third behind Pour Moi at Epsom but could finish only fourth in the Irish Derby on his only subsequent start.
The colt recently returned to work in Newmarket but John Warren, the owner's racing manager, was unable to nominate any late-season targets.
"Carlton House is back in work, that's all I can say at this point. We'll monitor him as the next few weeks progress" said Warren.
Carlton House holds an entry in the Qipco Champion Stakes at Ascot on October 15.
