Prohibit: Could run against Black Caviar in Australia

Robert Cowell is looking forward to seeing Prohibit take his chance in Australia in February.

The Newmarket trainer is keen to run his top sprinter in the Lightning Stakes at Flemington en route to the Dubai Carnival in March.

Prohibit, who gave Cowell a day to remember when winning the King's Stand Stakes at Royal Ascot in June, is currently having a well-deserved break.

"He's enjoying his holiday and it will be another two and a half weeks before we start thinking about doing a bit more with him," said Cowell.

"Australia is the plan. We are waiting for final confirmation for exact departure times and things like that, but he's definitely going.

"The Lightning Stakes is his main target, but there is a possibility there might be something else out there. It all depends on flights at the moment.

Caviar Clash

"He needs to get out there and then go on to Dubai afterwards and settle in so I don't know if there is enough time for two races in Australia."

Cowell would relish a potential clash with the unbeaten speedster Black Caviar should she defend her title in the Grade One prize.

"I would like to think she might be up against us, that's half the point in going," he went on.

"We'll see, but I don't know if that is on their agenda or not.

"She might be coming over here anyway for Royal Ascot next year from what I understand, but I don't know if they are thinking of the King's Stand or not.

"They are probably really thinking about the Golden Jubilee and the July Cup over six furlongs."
