Hayley Turner and Jonjo O'Neill teamed up at Dunstall Park to land a gamble courtesy of Dream Catcher.
The eight-year-old had never scored on the Flat previously despite three victories under National Hunt rules but the confidence in the betting ring was justified as he broke his duck in the Hotel & Conferencing At Wolverhampton Handicap.
Having gone on at half-way through the staying contest, Turner punched out her mount to see off the late overtures of Dart, Leyte Gulf and Lucky Diva.
Earlier in the afternoon, rookie trainer, Jason Ward added another to his tally as Eastward Ho followed up a success at the course nine days ago.
Michael Stainton was able to negotiate a passage from stall 13 to take a prominent pitch and the improving three-year-old was able to wrestle the spoils from Irish raider, Waterloo Sunrise, in the shadows of the post.
Gold Tobougg had something of a red letter day in the six furlong maiden on the card. Campaigned at trips of up to 10 furlongs in the past - she made light work of the massive drop in trip to secure the contest for David Simcock and Martin Lane.
