Gannon: Back from injury at Salisbury

Cathy Gannon will attempt to make a fresh start on what has been a stuttering year when returning to action at Salisbury on Thursday night.

The Irishwoman has endured desperate luck in building on a terrific season in 2011, as she was ruled out from October to February after breaking her leg in a fall at Nottingham.

Late last month, when riding work for Eve Johnson Houghton, she came off a horse and broke her jaw.

Gannon tweeted a gruesome picture of her injury from hospital but has thankfully returned to normal.

"I'm delighted to be back - I was keeping myself busy after the accident without riding, but I did a bit of riding out this week," she said.

"It looks fine now and I went to see the doctor on Monday, had the X-rays and everything is in order. Hopefully I've had my bad luck now!"
