Cavaleiro: Falied to trouble the judge in Saturday's Investec Derby

Sky Bet

Marcus Tregoning has yet to decide on Cavaleiro's next target following his run in the Investec Derby.

The colt failed to build on his third place behind Main Sequence in the Lingfield Derby Trial when coming home last of nine behind Camelot in the premier Classic at Epsom.

In contrast, his Lingfield conqueror took second place on Saturday.

"He's absolutely fine and took his race well," said the Lambourn trainer.

"There was 20 lengths covering the whole field so it wasn't a complete disaster.

"We'd have loved him to be in the money, but that wasn't to be.

"We'll see how he runs next time but it's always quite difficult when you're coming off a run like that knowing where to run them.

"We're not spoilt for choice for races for him to run in, so I think we'll just wait for now before deciding where we go."
