Joshua Tree: Will wait for Newmarket's July meeting

Joshua Tree will bypass Royal Ascot and will instead wait for the Newmarket July meeting following his trip to Italy on Sunday.

Newmarket based trainer Marco Botti has ruled out a crack at the Gold Cup on Thursday week after the five-year-old entire was fourth to Earl Of Tinsdal in the Group One Gran Premio di Milano at San Siro.

"It was a decent run, he stayed on well and wasn't beaten far. The rain got into the ground and perhaps he wants further.

"There's the Group Two Princess of Wales's at Newmarket and he might go for that.

"He definitely won't go for the Gold Cup next week and he won't run at Royal Ascot now."
