Marcus Tregoning doesn't believe that the conditions will pose a problem for Hawaafez in the bet365 Lancashire Oaks at Haydock on Saturday.
A four-length winner of the Aston Park Stakes at Newbury on her only outing this season, she has always been highly regarded by her trainer.
While Tregoning has scratched Mulaqen from the Old Newton Cup on the same card, he is also expecting a bold show from the veteran Askar Tau in the Coral Marathon at Sandown.
"We've scratched Mulaqen from the Old Newton Cup but Hawaafez will run in the Lancashire Oaks," said Tregoning.
"The forecast is very unpredictable but she has at least won on a soft surface before - I just hope they don't get an unbelievable amount but it is about.
"We like her a lot and a repeat of her Newbury form will put her right in the mix.
"She had an entry at Sandown also but it looks like Askar Tau will run there.
"He ran as well as could have been expected in the Gold Cup at Ascot (fifth) and it looks like Sandown have escaped most of the rain. He must have fast ground so that's a bonus."
