Back In Focus makes his belated debut for champion trainer Willie Mullins in the Ballykisteen Hotel & Golf Resort Hurdle at Tipperary on Sunday.

A high-class graduate from the Irish point-to-point sphere, the seven-year-old made a winning debut under Rules when landing a Grade Two for Howard Johnson in February of last year.

He was moved on to Mullins for the start of the last National Hunt season, but did not make it to the racecourse.

"He's in good shape and I'm happy to let him run on ground that should be safe enough for winter horses like him," said Mullins.

"We had him ready to run last season but the ground was just too dry to get him out.

"I didn't want to put him out to grass, so he's in now and we'll keep going with him if all goes well this weekend.

"It will be ground dependant where we go with him, but he won't go to Galway."

Back In Focus is set to face seven opponents, including Dessie Hughes' hat-trick seeking Whispering Hills.
