Rae Guest's promising young stayer Ed De Gas has run his last race of the season.

The three-year-old won his first three races before running with credit in Group Three races.

He will be now gelded and brought back in 2013 with a staying programme in mind.

"He's fine, but we've finished him for the year," said Guest.

"He's going to be gelded and turned out for a couple of months and then come back next year.

"He'll go for good staying handicaps or even Group races if the right one comes along.

"He didn't like the firm ground a couple of times - as he gets older he'll be able to take that.

"He started off early in the year in February so he got to where he needed a break, but he'll be back for good races over a mile-six to two miles.

"He'll be a better horse next year."
