Telescope: Key workout

Winter Investec Derby favourite Telescope faces a key piece of work on Sunday as he continues to build towards the premier Classic on June 1.

The Sir Michael Stoute-trained colt had been targeted at the Dante Stakes at York this week, however, he grazed his legs being loaded on to a horsebox and they became infected.

That meant he was unable to make his prep race and he now faces a race against time to make Epsom.

Since the news of his setback broke on Tuesday, though, the news has been positive.

A tweet from his owners, Highclere Thoroughbred Racing, read: "Telescope cantered today and will work on Sunday.

"He continues to please Sir Michael who reports him to be moving really well."
