Piquet: getting there
Nelson Piquet Jr. has said he is not fazed by the lack of points he has scored so far in his debut season, the Brazilian expressing confidence that points will "come sooner or later".
Piquet, son of the three-times World Champion, has yet to score a point in the first five races of his F1 career, his best-placed finish so far being an 11th in Malaysia.
His Renault team-mate, double World Champion Fernando Alonso, currently lies joint eighth in the Drivers' Championship with nine points.
Former GP2 adversary Lewis Hamilton made a contrasting start to his own career in the top flight in the opening five races of 2007, scoring one third and four second places to share a lead of the championship.
However, Piquet is not worried by his lacklustre debut and added that Renault are "very supportive" of him.
"Some drivers take a bit more time to learn, some get it straight at the beginning," the 22-year-old said.
"I think it depends on the situation and how comfortable the driver is with the car and the team.
"Hopefully race to race I am going to improve myself and get more comfortable with everything and we'll get there.
"The team are very supportive, they are trying to help me as much as I need so I have nothing to complain about.
"Obviously I want to score points, but it will come sooner or later."
Team boss Flavio Briatore also gave his backing, adding: "Nelsinho definitely has talent.
"Nelsinho is a part of the team and we need to support him. I don't have any doubt about Nelsinho."
